Olympic fever has hit Vancouver and the spirit of the Games is spreading among C3 Society.
Working in partnership with the Republic ofKorea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, C3 Society is collecting cheer messages and sharing the Olympic experiences of local Korean Canadians in Vancouver before and during the 2010 Winter Games.
News and information on Olympic events will be posted on the official website of the Korean government’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (http://fighting.korea.kr/2010_vancouver/main.htm), and the goal is to get Koreans excited about the Winter Games in Vancouver.
“The Olympics are about fostering a spirit of global community through the excellence of sport,” says Angela MacKenzie, a member of C3 Society’s board of directors. “So this is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the ties of Korean Canadians, particularly in Vancouver, with Olympic fans in Korea and around the world.”
C3 volunteers participating in this special online event are encouraged to report on medal counts, community celebrations and other Games-related news and there is still an opportunity to join C3 in spreading the spirit of the Games. For more information, contact Andrea Yoo at ayoo@c3society.org.
