Philip Cho

Fluor | Project Manager | Engineering
  Philip Cho is a Project Manager at Fluor, managing the design and construction of large mining projects for major mining companies. He is currently managing a $860M copper expansion project in Arizona for one of the world’s largest copper producers. His previous experience includes being in Mongolia as a Process Engineer for 3 years for the design, construction, and commissioning of a multi-billion dollar copper project. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Sauder School of Business at UBC.

Outside of work, Philip loves being outdoors and is actively involved in activities like hiking, camping, kayaking, scuba diving, and playing lots of beach volleyball. He also loves music and going to concerts.

 

Joanne Koh-Stewart

ICBC | Analytics Advisor | Marketing
  Joanne Koh-Stewart is an Analytics Advisor at ICBC with years of experience in market research. She consults and leads various research initiatives involving multiple business areas, creates and improves customer experience programs, and translates research results into actionable insights to drive process and culture changes.

Joanne holds a BCom degree in Marketing from UBC, and Master's degree in Market Research and Consumer Behaviour from IE Business School in Spain.
Outside of work Joanne can be spotted baking cookies and cupcakes, or hiking around North Shore with her husband and their dog, Sherlock.She also loves traveling and have visited 23 countries so far.

 

Michael Cha

Teekay Shipping | Financial Analyst | Accounting
  Michael Cha completed his bachelor degree in Business Administration at Simon Fraser University, with a concentration in Accounting and Management Information Systems. While in school, Michael volunteered at a small accounting firm for 2 years before accepting a full-time position. After graduation, he made the decision to move to a larger firm to further his career by accepting an offer from PwC in their Tax – CA program. During his time there, he was able to work on a variety of engagements including: Canadian/US corporate tax compliance, international tax planning, client secondments, and audit. After obtaining his CPA, CA designation in 2015, he left public practice to work for Teekay where he currently works as a Financial Analyst.

 

Jason Yang

  Jason Yang is the Product Owner of Digital Analytics for TELUS Digital, responsible for leading and delivering product analytics strategy. Prior to joining TELUS Digital, he worked at lululemon and Best Buy Canada as eCommerce strategist.

 

Mike Lee

Canada Post | Manager, Government & Community Affairs | Government/Social Work
  Mike Lee works for Canada Post as Manager, Government and Community Affairs
(Metro Vancouver).

Previously, Mike worked at Terramera helping to run executive operations and at Insurance Bureau of Canada where he was responsible for consumer and stakeholder relations. He was an executive assistant in the minister’s office (Minister of Justice & Attorney General, Minister of Transportation & Infrastructure, Minister of State for Multiculturalism, Minister of Social Development) and a constituency assistant to a MLA with the BC government.

Mike is a Chartered Insurance Professional and received his BBA from Simon Fraser University. He also serves on the C3 Society board as well as been a campaign advisor in numerous elections.

 

Esther Chung

Simpson, Thomas & Associates | Lawyer | Law
  Esther Chung graduated from UBC with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies which allowed her to pursue many of her interests including History and Psychology. She continued her studies at the University of Manitoba where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008. She was called to the B.C. Bar in 2009 and has practiced in areas of real estate development, corporate/commercial, secured lending and wills and estates. In 2016, she changed her practice focus to join her husband at Simpson, Thomas & Associates where she now practices exclusively in ICBC Personal Injury Law. Esther serves on the board of directors of the Rose of Sharon Foundation, serves as Treasure of the Rotary Club of Vancouver Cambie, and is a Council Member of the National Unification Advisory Council. She has written a legal column for the Korea Times, has been a course presenter in the Continuing Legal Education program, and speaks at various legal education and mentorship seminars for the general public.

 

Grace Chin

Marketing and Performing Arts | Digital and print content creation, editing, strategy and management
  A content sifu, Grace Chin contributes a content, project, and event management skill set toward effective cross-channel, multi-platform campaigns for SME, enterprise, and not-for-profit clients, in international and North American markets. Her 20 years' experience includes the technology, finance, entertainment, hospitality, travel, retail, media, healthcare, and social services sectors. Grace has a BA in English Literature (Hons) from the University of British Columbia, and accreditation in journalism from Langara College. She is a member of the Playwrights’ Guild of Canada and the Union of British Columbia Performers/ACTRA. Co-founder of the Pan Asian Staged Reading Society and its script development platform, Scripting Aloud, Grace was Festival Director of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival and served on the board of Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre and Vancouver Asian Heritage Month, as well as other performing arts juries, committees, and panels. She is googleable.

 

David Sim

BC Prosecution Service | Crown Counsel | Law
  David Sim has been a criminal prosecutor with the Provincial Crown Counsel office in Vancouver, BC. for the past 15 years. Born in Vancouver, BC he received his BA from the University of Alberta in Political Science. Following a term in the KLA program at Yonsei University he returned to the University of Alberta, receiving his LLB from the Faculty of Law. A prosecutor, David conducts criminal prosecutions involving various offences of the Criminal Code of Canada.
