Sandy Lee is a former MLA for Range Lake and a cabinet minister of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories (NWT). She was elected to the Legislature in 1999, 2003, and 2007. She was also the Conservative Party candidate in the NWT riding of Western Arctic in the 2011 General Election. Between 2011 to 2015, she served as the Director of NWT Regional Affairs for the Federal Government.
She is the first Korean born Canadian to be elected to a provincial/territorial legislature and to serve as a cabinet minister in Canada. She was also the first woman cabinet minister from the NWT Capital City of Yellowknife in the NWT Legislature.
Ms. Lee has a B.A. in Political Science with High Honours from Carleton University and an LL.B from Dalhousie Law School.
She lived in Yellowknife, NWT, between 1978 and 2015. She is now retired and lives in 108 Mile Ranch, British Columbia.
