Esther graduated from UBC with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies which allowed her to pursue many of her interests including History and Psychology. She continued her studies at the University of Manitoba where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008. She was called to the B.C. Bar in 2009 and has practiced in areas of real estate development, corporate/commercial, secured lending and wills and estates. In 2016, she changed her practice focus to join her husband at Simpson, Thomas & Associates where she now practices exclusively in ICBC Personal Injury Law. Esther serves on the board of directors of the Vancouver Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation, the Rose of Sharon Foundation, and is a Council Member of the National Unifification Advisory Council. She has written a legal column for the Korea Times, has been a course presenter in the Continuing Legal Education program, and speaks at various legal education and mentorship seminars for the general public.
