Born and bred in Vancouver, James Lee initially trained as a mechanical engineer, then studied and graduated from Emily Carr University with a bachelors in Industrial Design. After graduation, he freelanced and was contracted as the lead Industrial Designer for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic games. During his time there he was responsible for designing and overseeing elements for the Victory Ceremonies including the podiums and presentation trays for medal presentations. James then founded his design studio where he has been working with a team of designers, engineers and creatives on a wide variety of projects f rom consumer products, to prefabricated architecture, to high profile international sporting events.
